I want to live in the 17th century. It’s my favourite century and I think it’s the best. I want to be a OFFIZER in the 17th century. Ja! I’m not interested in the 19th century because it’s too close to our time, it’s too similar. And I don’t want to be in the middle ages either. Everything was dark and everyone was catholic or dead. So I want to be a field marshall and carry a musket or a sword. I could dress as a boy. That’s fine.
ISSUE 38, Magda Nowicka, Viva London
London is such a great place. I love the people here. They’re so helpful and friendly. Like on my way here I had to ask this guy in the tram station to help me and this guy he told me everything. And one minute later he spoke on the phone and he was Polish, ha! He was from Poland but helped me in English. What do you mean there is no tram. I call it tram. Oh, and everything is always ‘cool’ here. This ‘cool’, that ‘cool’. Everyone’s cool.
ISSUE 37, Jessica Patana, Next
I’m starting to learn English at a language school! This is my first time in London, which is very exciting. I have not been to a pie and mash shop. This place is amazing! I moved to Sao Paolo 9 months ago from a small town in the south were not much happens. My dad has a farm there. I had a horse at home called Amareline, its a colour in Portugese. Wait, I think it’s yellow. Language school is paying off!

Do you know Matryoshka? They’re these dolls you can paint on that stack up. It’s all pretty Russian the stuff I do, like this traditional Russian dance with huge dresses. I can’t really describe them they’re kind of red and white… wait let me draw one for you.The skirt is a bit like an umbrella. And then there’s a traditional headdress with it. They were always pretty big for me though so I looked like a shrimp most of the time haha.

I don’t really do sports except this thing called Body Plastic. It’s sort of like yoga but I don’t really know the English word for it. No it’s not sculpture haha. Before that I did a lot of Lindy Hop dancing, like swing. I love the whole 60’s vibe: the dresses, James Dean, all that. No idea why they call it Lindy Hop. But yeah you definitely need a good dance partner because the boy has to lift you up a lot… if he can.
ISSUE 34, Lucie Von Alten, IMG
YES it’s Christmas! I grew up in this tiny Austrian village. When my Mom first moved there I was like “WHAT how can you live out here!” because it was tiny and I was this grumpy grungy teenager. I wanted to be in Munich, not in the country. I love it now though, it’s really quiet and beautiful. Like I’m excited about a farmer bringing over our Christmas tree on his tractor. And no, I don’t get to have a go at driving it…
ISSUE 33, Kadriana, Storm
OK, if my hand is Russia, then my thumb is Siberia where not a lot happens. Kidding! There are lots of things I’d love to try like photography or writing. And I’m really into astronomy. I love reading about planets and black…holes? Yeah. You know that amazing scientist, I’ve forgotten his name. Steven Hawking. I love him. I’m like the dorky model getting her hair done and reading A Brief History of Time.
ISSUE 32, Marina Serbul, Models 1
I’m from Moldova but I’m going to University in Romania next year. I grew up really close to a lake so I love fishing. It’s like what we did as kids to hang out… just go fishing for a day. I go with my boyfriend now. I always let the fish go back into the water after I’ve caught them though. There’s this one I catch all the time… I don’t know what it’s called in English, the one with the beard? Yes, catfish! I tried it once but it tastes really awful.
ISSUE 31, Stefania Ivanescu, Viva London
They taught Japanese at my highschool so now I can say, “Konichiwa”. I went to Tokyo for this really funny shoot recently. I thought I had to pose with a dog and then when I woke up after they’d done my makeup I was wearing all this dog makeup and they kept telling me to BE A HUSKY. I actually have a dog at home. I called him Jackie because I was watching a Jackie Chan movie when I got him. Do they eat dogs in Italy?
ISSUE 30, Tsheca White, Storm

My agent said, no sweet pea, you really got Fendi. I’m good now, i could go home to Jamaica. Ha.
